I know I’ll be attending the grand opening of Liberty Arts, Yreka’s newest gallery and the Marble Rim Gallery’s 2nd Annual Street Fair in Fort Jones, a fiscally sponsored project of SAC.<br />While attending California Arts Council’s (CAC) Conference last month I learned that most presidential candidates have arts policies. You can go to their websites and read their stand on the arts. This is important information because presidents appoint the chairperson for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). CAC receives one third of its budget from the NEA in matching funds coming from the California State’s General Fund. Sales of those palm tree license plates bring in nearly I million bring the CAC’s total budget to only $3 million. SAC receives almost 1/2 of its budget from CAC. April 25-26 - COS Weed<br />The College of the Siskiyous Theater Department presents their Spring musical, The Spitfire Grill. Spitfire is an upbeat, well-crafted and performed show directed by Tom Murdock, with an enjoyable folksy score conducted by Roger Emerson. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, $10 general admission, and are available at the door or in advance at the COS Public Information Office,(530)938-5373.
